It would be hard to fool you,
or for a fool to remain the same after witnessing your cheer.
He would make better for it.
That a moment of your honesty could tell a wayward of their own selfish view;
And free their desperate retreat from pointless doubt to find comfort again.
If it were meant to unlock another truth,
I would hope to share your courage without robbing you of any of your graciousness;
often the outcome of foolish wants.
But if it is not the way the world would have,
and your cheer is the only thing that keeps me,
I would gladly remain a fool.
